pattern in the red colorway is difficult to find, so we feel very lucky to have this piece to offer a lucky collector. It is a round covered candy jar. We have also heard sometimes this was used as a powder jar with a powder puff for a vanity or dresser accessory.
It measures 6 inches across and 2-1/4 inches high. The backstamp indicates it was made sometime during the late 1940's and 1950's.
The piece is free from chips and repairs, but it does show signs of aging. The gold edging is wearing in some areas, and clean crazing is present all over the piece.There is a very tiny, tight hairline about the size of a rice grain along the edge of the bowl that is not visible when the lid is on.
I double box all breakables for shipping, so the parcel may end up being a bit heavier than expected.
