THIS AUCTION IS FOR A PRETTY CUP AND SAUCER FROM ROYAL WINTON GRIMWADES IN THEIRSUMMERTIME.
THE BACK STAMP DATES THEM TO THE 1930`s .
THIS PATTERN WAS MADE FOR LUXURY RETAILER WRIGHT, TYNDALE AND VAN RODEN OF
PHILADELPHIA, WHO WAS AWARDED EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO THE
SUMMERTIME
PATTERN.
THE
SUMMERTIME
PATTERN WAS FIRST INTRODUCED IN 1932 AND BECAME THE MOST POPULAR AND WIDELY PRODUCED WINTON PATTERN.
THE CUP AND SAUCER ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR CHIPS,
BOUGHT FROM A LOCAL COLLECTOR AND USED FOR DISPLAY ONLY.
THE CUP MEASURED 4 1/4" FROM RIM TO HANDLE AND IS 2 1/2" HIGH. TH
E SAUCER IS 6 1/2" ACROSS.
