    Description

    Mid-Century German Wood PE-DE Dienes Mokka Green Coffee Grinder Tole Painting. I bought this at a Munich flea market in 1997, and it was old then. Someone else may be able to date it as pre- or post-war. In the film "1938: Before the Fall"/Das war auch Wien" the maid uses a manual coffee grinder in the kitchen, and I imagine hers was a typical technique: held in front of the belly for leverage. It takes about five minutes to get the morning's coffee ground. I must admit that I have used it very little over the years, but I know that it works well.
