Luma EC110S Evaporative Cooler.
I bought this evaporative cooler when I lived in Las Vegas in 2014, when one of my regular A/C units failed. I used it for a few weeks until the A/C unit was replaced. The evaporative cooler worked well because Las Vegas has dry air. I no longer use it now that I live in Chicago, which has very humid air.
Evaporative cooling works because evaporation of water causes the air temperature to drop. This evaporative cooler has a bin that holds water and a good fan that blows air to generate the cooling effect. The water lasts about 7 hours before needing to be refilled. You can enhance the cooling effect by adding ice cubes to the water.
This will cool a medium-sized room by about 10 to 20 degrees. I used it in a bedroom. You can set the fan to a fixed direction or you can have it oscillate.
Please note that this will work only in a low humidity environment. Do not get this if you live in a humid (moist) part of the country.
