Description
This tie is about 16.5 inches long in the configuration seen in the 2nd photo. The black & red "tie" has one weak point. The metal tips have aged patina. The concho like piece with crossed bats is 2 by 2.5 inches. The American League expanded to the Pacific Coast in 1961 with the L. A. Angels. That baseball team's owner was the Singing Cowboy, Gene Autry. He was probably America's richest Cowboy with his investments in land AND the Angels. My guess is that these boleros were sold at the Los Angeles version of Wrigley Field in their first year of existence. In 1962 they played at Dodger Stadium and in 1966 moved to Anaheim.
