Unfortunately in recent times there are sellers even here in Ireland who are listing loose strands of "Connemara marble" beads or cabochons for sale which are counterfeit and are instead a low-quality Chinese stone and not Connemara marble at all. It is therefore always very important when shopping for Connemara marble items to pay attention to provenance and price.
