There are numerous brands that produce egg poachers in many styles. The brands include Kuhn Rikon, Amway, Salad Master and Hamilton Beach, among others. They are usually configured as a skillet with a tray that suspends egg cups above the boiling water as the eggs are steamed in the cups. Unfortunately, there is no standard size for egg cups. The most common size egg cups range in size from 2 inch dia. to 3 inch. The most common material for these cups has usually been durable stainless steel. A common feature of most egg cups is a little handle, hardly enough to grab, particularly when boiling hot. That small wrinkle in that handle? What is it for? Some genius in the research department figured out an inexpensive way to give the cooks an easy way to grab and remove the hot cups for serving. Simply insert the tines of a fork into that wrinkle and lift as pictured.

A poached egg is an egg that has been cooked, outside the shell, by poaching (or sometimes steaming), as opposed to simmering or boiling. This method of preparation can yield more delicately cooked eggs than cooking at higher temperatures such as with boiling water.
Poached eggs are used in the traditional American breakfast dish Eggs Benedict. Poached eggs are also the basis for many dishes in Louisiana Creole cuisine, such as Eggs Sardou, Eggs Portuguese, Eggs Hussarde and Eggs St. Charles. Creole poached egg dishes are typically served for brunches.

The cups available in this auction fit a numerous number of brands of egg poachers. The main factor is the diameter of the cup hole in the cup tray. In this case the diameter of this egg cup is 2 5/8 inches. It should fit egg cup trays with that diameter holes. Please measure your cooker precisely. The only other factor is the design of the handle. Of course each manufacturer claims  the best design. It's up to you! It would be nice to have a matching replacement cup, but if the cup fits the tray hole, IT'S GOOD ENOUGH!!
These were acquired at a liquidation auction of an appliance store. They were in open boxes in a back store room.
Condition: Like New!! This fine piece of cookery has never been used. New in every way. Priced accordingly. I cannot be responsible if it does not fit your cooker with the measurement given. Therefore, THESE ARE SOLD "AS IS, NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS".

RETURNS / REFUND POLICY
